MacAmhlaigh book launch

THE SELECTED Short Stories of Donall MacAmhlaigh was formally launched by the Northampton Connolly Association and members of Irish-language group Cuideachta at the Irish Club, Eaton Square in the autumn.

The author's son Jimmy, and his brother Noel, spoke of Donall's life in Northampton and his daily routine of recording the characters he met and the conversations he had on the building sites.

Seamus Kenneally spoke in Irish about Donall's membership of the group and his many books in Irish.

Peter Mulligan, Secretary of the Northampton Branch of the Connolly Association, of which Donall was a member spoke about author's life and paid tribute to Donallís contribution to the social history of the Irish in Britain.
